Daimler was the car of choice of the British Royal Family for many years – in fact a Daimler was reportedly the first car a Royal rode in!. However, not only Royalty were able to appreciate this fine marque, and especially since the 1940’s more and more owner-drivers have been able to own a Daimler, and many others have certainly admired them. Check out our website to find out more about Daimler & Lanchester cars and their owner’s in NZ and overseas.
The New Zealand Daimler & Lanchester Owners’ Club was formed in Christchurch in 1971 when two enthusiastic Daimler owners met and called the inaugural meeting. Twelve owners attended that first meeting and decided to form a club, so set up a committee.
The founding members deserve our appreciation of the time and effort they put into developing the evolving club into, at its peak, the largest ‘one-make’ car club in New Zealand with over 900 members.
Daimler’s production years have been split into pre and post 1950 models mainly because that was about the time that post-war production started to produce predominantly new models. Unfortunately we see very few of the pre-WWII standard or coach built saloons in NZ.
We are constantly adding content about all models of Daimler vehicles, but the aim here is to fuel your interest to do further research.
